I keep waiting! Impatience, oh it plagued his mind like no other. Where was his brother? His partner? He needed him, they had been together since birth and spent very little time apart. The separation made him restless and anxious, it put him on his toes and made him edgy. Heavy paws beat against the dry earth, the grass climbing up to his chest. They said they would meet here, so where was he? He wasn't here, they were always on time. Had something happened? The wheels in his head twisted and turned as he began to come to a state of panic. Sitting down, his haunches reached the earth with a gentle thud. The afternoon sun beating down, warming his thick coat. Straight as an arrow he sat, with a military feel to him. Those acid green pools watched the distance, never faltering. They were locked on that one spot, the spot where his brother was meant to come from.

His scent did not coat the air, only Nyrocs did, god he felt like he was missing a piece of himself. Like the other half of who he was, was gone. A slight growl bubbled up in his throat, with his frustration. Shifting uneasily as he became anxious. Maw pulled open in a yawn, they had been traveling for quite some time. It was finally time to settle down in this new land, make a life here. Make something of themselves. Where they could be equal, no one had to be better than the other. They could be complete equals as they always had been. Tail wrapped around his side as he waited impatiently. He could not falter here, no he was not with someone he could trust. He could be surrounded by strangers, complete threats for all he knew. So he remained cold, a stone look on his face masked the worry that set deep inside his core. Emotionless, he was a killer, trained and bred killer.

The sound of another made his head snap in their direction. One fluid motion was all it took, quick and flawless. As if the boy didn't even give a second of thought to trail through hid mind before his actions took over. Shifting his entire body in their direction he sat down again. "Greetings stranger." he said simply, his deep voice clean and flat. The slight dip of his maw was all that was given to this who decided to try and sneak up on him.

Drown you out and left you with the sounds ! We'll spoil good nights replacing lullabies

Gorgeous wings flapped back and forth on the back of a butterfly sipping from a flower. Her multicolor eyes watched in fascination at the beautiful colors of blue and black. What was it like to be a butterfly? Did they have thoughts or did they only act on impulses? She waited as the butterfly finished sipping the honey from the flower and took flight. She giggled and followed it as it flew deeper into the meadow as if helping someone lore her close.

She trotted with a spring to her step. Her tail danced back and forth on her rump beating to some known beat that only she could hear. Her ears twitched as she jumped after the butterfly as it pulled higher into the sky. “Wait!” she cried out. She had so may questions to ask and the fickle thing had increased its flying speed without consulting her, how rude of it. A voice called her attention away from her quarry. Had someone been watching her? She felt slightly alarmed that another had been close and she had been so consumed In the world of her and the butterfly that she hadn’t noticed.

“um, yea greetings to you as well.” She said politely. Where had that voice come from? She wondered as she had spoken her response to the general are around her. Her ice blue eye found the figure of a male and she frowned. Another fucking male? God was this place crawling with them? Was it so much to ask to meet another female wolf and possibly have a best friend happen? Apparently it was. She sighed at the thought and shrugged it off. The butterfly was gone and she had nothing better to do then entertain herself and maybe the stranger.

Her gaze shifted over the male. His appearance reminded her of her father and that look was one she knew all to well. He was hiding how he felt. “Why are you hiding your emotions?” she asked, the second the thought popped into her head. She wasn’t one to mull over thoughts and slowly come out with a question that wouldn’t be so intrusive. She just didn’t have the tact for that. No, she was blunt and spoke her mind flat out. “My father would have that look when he didn’t want us to know what he was feeling so don’t tell me your not hiding your feelings.” She said before the male could even get a word in. she didn’t want to give him the opportunity to come up with some made up reason. Truth was what she wanted and what she was determined to get.

Headstrong to take on anyone! Well she was his type wasn't she? She was rather pretty, specked in colors similar to his own. However he was darker than her, but not by much. She was polite, and seemed to be nice. That was a change, so far all he had seen were wolves encased in darkness. It dripped off of their tongue like a tainting venom. A poison that one could never escape from once it began to eat away at you. It was sad really. Not that he was really the nicest guy around. No, he was a killing machine. Born and bred to kill. He dipped his head at her, his face remaining plain and simple. Serious and harsh, as if it were encased in stone or ice. Her next words caught him off guard. No one ever questioned why he was the way he was. That's just what he did, and everyone seemed to passively accept it. Ear flicked backwards as the words seemed to hit him like a rock had been thrown at him from behind. It was rare that anything caught Nyroc off guard. "Um...well..." he got cut off before he could finish. She wasn't allowing him to even slip a single word in.

Hm. What to tell her? Should he lie and say...well it was hard to lie about this one. He could probably think of something, but nothing that wouldn't take him some time to come up with. "I was trained to be like this." he told her sharply. He didn't exactly wish to spill his life story with someone he had just met, but it seemed she gave him no other choice. "Since the day me and my brother could walk." he stated, giving her a little bit more information. He was a soldier, they both were. Two wolves that were stripped of most of their personality, to be effective warriors. His mind drifted off to that horrid training. Days and days of work, relentless hours. It made him strong, it made him have a ton of pain tolerance, but it made him cold. Made him cruel and merciless. Which was exactly what their father wanted them to be. Turning his focus back to her, he allowed his green pools to meet her own eyes. "I'm Nyroc by the way." he said with a dip of his head.

Tail thumped against the ground. Emotions remaining encased, just how they should be. He was so lost without his brother. Missing an entire half of who he was. They had been separated for a few days now and it was much too long. Oh, their reunion would be grand though. He missed him so much already. Ears pulled forward as he listened for any strange objects that could be lurking. He was always on guard, always worrying, waiting, watching. Never could he allow his guard to fall. It was always than that the worst of things happened. If they knew he was paying attention, they avoided facing the massive brute.

His response wasn’t exactly the answer she was looking for. She hadn’t wanted to know the reason he was like that, or rather, who had taught him to consume his emotions inside himself and display nothing but indifference to the world. What she had wanted to know was what was bothering him right this second to make him shut himself down so no one would see the truth of his emotions. Perhaps she hadn’t been as clear to the point as she had first thought or maybe he was just a bit slow.

“ok. That isn’t what I meant.” She said with a sigh. She disliked miscommunication. It was an annoying thing really but it wasn’t the male’s fault that her question had been to vague. She tried again, “What I meant to ask as, what is bothering you now, emotionally, that you need to withdraw yourself from the world around you?” there, was that clear enough? She rethought the words that had been released from her mouth and they made more sense to her now. She shook her coat and watched him carefully. He had been slightly taken aback by her first comment and she couldn’t help but smile to herself about it.

She thought about his original statement. He was trained to be like this. Her tail thumped next to her at the word trained. She had known nothing of such things. He was a lady and in her old home the lady did not fight. She was meant to be the brains and the beauty behind the force. She was meant to breed eventually and give life to the pack with her children and teach her daughters to be ladies just like herself. Yea, she had thrown that concept out the window already. She was happy to be carefree and released from her obligations as a daughter of a leading couple. She shook her head at the memory and focused on him, “You say you were trained this way, was your training hard?” she asked curiously. She knew nothing of fighting or training and was curious if she could handle such things.

Her mind wandered a little towards Carthage. She had adopted him as her guardian. He would teach her the things she knew nothing of but could others teach her too? What if Carthage wasn’t good at fighting? What if he knew nothing of training? How could he teach her if he didn’t know himself? “Did you always want to train? Or did you have other desires?” she asked once more, so many questions littered her mind and she wanted to ask then all but she wasn’t trying to overwhelm the male with her questions. She fidgeted with the thoughts clouding her mind. God she hated with drawing herself for the sake of others. She wanted answers and the only way she could get them was by asking questions.

Keep your feet on the ground ! When your heads in the clouds

Thirst. That was the immediate need that plagued the tri-colored wolf's entire being. He had just stumbled upon this new land that promised everything to him and his brother—brother. A pang assulted the boy's heart as he thought fondly of his only litter-mate, his other half. His brother was everything to him. Somehow, they had gotten seperated on their way to this new, strange land; it caused anxiety and confusion to thread between the male wolf's tendons and bones, leaking deep into his inner being. Nyroc, I'll find you. Just you wait, we'll be reunited yet. The shaded canine looked up into the sky as he thought these thoughts, searching the skyline and noticing an ending to the canopy up ahead. A meadow, perhaps? That nearly promised some kkind of thirst-quenching liquid for his scorching throat.

Dark paws padded heavily against the earthy smelling ground, kicking particles of worm food into the air as Coryn Strixx bounded forward, pushed on by the alluring thought of a cool liquid relieving the burn in his throat. Sweet, beautiful sustenance, that was all that spurred him on in his search.

A strong, musky scent invaded Coryn's nose, making him huff in confusion, his attention temporarily being dragged away from his current task at hand. The tri-colored boy stopped and blinked, breathing in the scent that reminded him of home, his heart shuddering in anticipation before he could even mentally process who the scent belowed to. Nyroc! A cheshire-like grin curled up his maw as he thought of finally seeing his brother for the first time in what felt like eternity. The smirk that spread thickly on his face was gone as soon as it had appeared, leaving his face emotionless and cold. He was excited to see his brother, but the time would have to wait for him to reminisce with his slightly younger brother.

Replace freedom with fear,This girl was rather confusing, acting like this was all Nyroc knew. Miscommunication made Nyroc a bit awkward, he already wasn't good in social situations. He cocked his head to the side curious as to what exactly she meant. He listened closely to her words and decided to take a moment to break them down in his head. Ears fell back before he finally decided to explain to her. "I always act like this...I don't know any better." he said oddly. "But if you must know specifics....I cannot find my brother." he stated. Nodding his head curtly, hoping that was the answer she was searching for. However it was not long before he was being bombed with other questions. He would answer each to his best knowledge and as quickly as he was capable of. "Yes, it was very hard. My father was relentless and extremely harsh." he explained to her. His mind drifted to his brother and oh those horrible days and nights they would train. Never ending, harsh training that would consume their entire lives. Nothing else mattered. No personal relationships were allowed, so he had a lack of experience with such. Nyroc and Coryn were killing machines, never were they able to grow attached to anyone. They only had each other.

He sighed heavily at her words. He was not one for spilling his life tales to just any stranger. She hadn't even given him her name yet. "No, I didn't want to train. But we were given no choice. We were pups, so we were molded how our father wanted-" he cut off his words as the scent met his nostrils. Focus drifting from her. Could it be him? "I apologize....excuse me." he told her with a brief nod, before he pulled himself to his feet. Acid pools caught a glimpse of him in the distance, but he remained calm. Keeping himself together. Nyroc moved close to his brothers face, allowing little distance between them. His emotions inside raged like a wildfire though. They burned for a desire to wrestle and give him affection. But he contained himself. "Brother, I've missed you." he told him. Nodding deeply to him, his eyes scanned over Coryn's form, assuring that he had not been harmed. He was severely protective over him.

Making his way back over to the stranger he had met just moments ago, he looked between the two of them. "This is Coryn." he explained to her briefly. Muscles rolled beneath his massive frame. Eyes watching Coryn closely, and eyeing the girl who had yet to give him her name.

His words were satisfying, she had been slightly intrusive but she was not aware of this. She simply wanted to know and to her that was a good enough reason to ask. So he missed his brother? Her heart clenched a little and her face pulled into a pained look. Her sister was missing. What had happened to her? Hadn’t she saved her? Her mind pulsed with a faded memory. One suppressed. It was merely a flash of a face. A dark smile, those eyes glittering with lust, and her sister covered in blood. She stumbled for a moment and shook her head. What the hell was that? She was shivering and each muscled quaked beneath her coat.

Words, they broke the trans that had consumed her. She tilted her head slowly and blinked. A blank confused look painted her face and she blinked again. What had he said? “Hmm?” she asked, she had missed something. Her mind ticked back at the words, what had she asked him again? Training, right she had asked him about training. He had said what? She thought for a moment and the words echoed in her mind. "YES, IT WAS VERY HARD. MY FATHER WAS RELENTLESS AND EXTREMELY HARSH." HARSH? WHY WAS HE HARSH? SHE WAS CONFUSED BY THIS CONVERSATION. WHAT HAD ERUPTED IN HER MIND? WHAT WAS HER MIND TRYING TO MAKE HER REMEMBER? SHE SHOOK HER HEAD TO TRY AND FOCUS ON HIM. HE WAS INTERESTING AND SHE HAD QUESTION, DID SHE?

HE CONTINUED ON HIS DESIRE TO NOT TRAIN. HOWEVER, HE WAS FORCED, HER MIND PULSED AGAIN. SHE STAGGERED WITH THE FORCE OF IT AND GASPED. AGAIN THAT FACE. A LAUGH SO DEEP AND FORBODING IT MADE HER SHAKE AGAIN. WHO WAS THAT FACE? HER WORDS WHISPERED OUT OF HER BEFORE SHE COULD REGESTER WHAT SHE WAS SAYING, “YOU HAD NO CHOICE?” THE QUESTION WAS ALMOST A DEMAND. YET THIS DEMAND WAS NOT FOR HIM, BUT FOR WHO? SHE SHOOK HER HEAD AGAIN,” CHOICE SHOULDN’T BE TAKEN FROM ANYONE.” SHE WHISPERED AND STILL WHAT WAS SHE TRYING TO SAY? SHE WAS SO CONFUSED BY HER OWN MIND AT THE MOMENT.

HE EXCUSED HIMSELF AND SHE TOOK THE OPERTUNITY TO REGROUP. WHAT THE HELL WAS HAPPENING TO HER. SHE PAWED AT HER HEAD AND MOANED. GOD HER HEAD WAS HURTING. THE MALE HAD FOUND HIS BROTHER. SHE WAS HAPPY FOR HIM BUT STILL LOST. SHE SHOOK HER HEAD AGAIN AND TURNED TO FACE THE TWO THAT NOW APPROCHED HER. HE SPOKE OF HIS BROTHERS NAME AND SHE SMILED TOWARDS THE OTHER MALE, HIS TWIN? SHE REALIZED SHE HAD YET TO GIVE THIS WOLF HER NAME. HER EARS FELL BACK WITH AN APOLOGY. GOD COULD SHE BE ANY MORE RUDE? “ASYLUM IS MY NAME.” SHE OFFERED, THOUGH HER VOICE WAS STILL BARLY ABOVE A WHISPER. SHE FELT LIGHT HEADED AND FELT HERSELF SLIPPING. WHY WAS EVERYTHING TURNING GRAY?

maybe in a different light, you could see me stand on my own again. Coryn felt the surpressed love seeping from Nyroc's being. A smile tugged at his lips, but of course, the emotion fell from his face, not existing on his maw. Nyroc spoke briefly of how he had missed Coryn, and he nodded eagerly in agreement. He stared into his brother's eyes for a moment, before letting Nyroc lead him back to where a stranger stood, a female from the scent. The female introduced herself after hearing Nyroc introduce Coryn. A smile tugged at his heart again as he opened his maw to speak to the female. "Hello, miss. My name is Coryn. I am Nyroc's brother." His head twisted to indicate to his brother who stood stiffly beside him. Turning his head back to the female, he noticed her shuddering form and upset expression. Her eyes looked blank and she looked light-headed. Coryn twisted his face into a concerned expression before standing beside her so she could not fall over. "Are you alright?" He asked, a sign of urgency in his voice. She seemed very unstable, as if something was plaguing her mind. He held his legs steady as he held her upright. What was going on?
